So I got kind of fidgety and bought a Rx-8. Six speed 238, in a basic trim.
Body is fairly decent, interior suffers from not the best wear patterning. Not overly miled out, thankfully. I've made a terrible joyous mistake that will bring years of both frustration and elation. I have also opened a savings account for the eventual rebuild/replacement of the Renesis.
It will be picked up tonight. Edit: unless the seller flakes out. Which seems unlikely.
I was selling them new for a while in 04. And there is nothing like driving one. Really. It's like driving witchcraft, to quote one review.
Edit: Original ad. Purchased for 6k

amazing chassis. can't say enough good things about it.
the engine, though... hopefully, you got a later RX-8 with the additional oil injectors to help prevent apex seal failure.

I would of thought you bought 3/8ths of a RX-7...

It's a great car if it's not your only one. If it's your only one, then drive it around for a few weeks and sell it because unlike the bullying campaign slogans, it does NOT get better.

My vote was for the right hand drive manual Rover but right on!

Occasionally I get the urge to jump on a cheap rx8. I see them all the time in the mid 4 digit range all the way down to project car 2k range
I just keep telling myself that it isn't the car I really want and I need to save for an FD that's been modified just enough for me to not feel bad doing the spirit tribute with it.

Welcome to the club!
If you have any questions/concerns/need help feel free to hit me up, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I know my way around an 8, and the intricacies of rotaries, more than just about anyone I've met.
